Centre likely to clean-up Thane lakes

The few lakes which have not been cleaned up or rejuvenated in Thane City may likely get some assistance from the Centre to be attended to according Loksatta today, following a visit to such lakes by the Secretary to Department of Environment, Shashi Shekhar.

Of the 45 lakes, the civic body has dealt with 24 and another 11 need attention but funds are scarce, the newspaper reported.
