Tenders higher by almost a third of the budgeted costs for work, thereafter increases allowed for inflation, marks the working of the Thane Municipal Corporation, according to a report in Maharashtra Times.
These relate mostly to Centrally-funded Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) projects and according to the newspaper, a substantial part of the xos escalation is being met by the TMC's own funds.
The sums involved, it says, is around Rs 1,100 cr
