Tenders for constructing two overhead pedestrian crossings on Eastern Express Highway, one near Azadnagar and another at Jupiter Hospital are being processed even as four more tenders, including at Tatvagyan, R Mall, Brahmhand Naka and Kasarvadavli are being initiated, Loksatta reported today.
These would not have the usual steps but ramps to ensure their use following the poor use of the skywalk everywhere in the metropolitan region. These are being taken up by the Thane Municipal Corporation and not the Metropolitan Regional Authority was was planned earlier.
